How can you make a fireplace attractive?
“To maximize the appeal of a Dresser with fireplace, it’s important to create harmony with the surrounding decor,” says Vyanca Soto, owner and principal designer at Market Studio Interiors in Fullerton, California.
“An eye-catching frame, a carefully selected piece of artwork on top, or carefully layered accessories can help add visual interest.”

Materials also play a big role in aesthetics. Jordan Mosslar, the founder of FORM(LA), a design studio in Los Angeles, emphasizes that you can’t go wrong with marble.
People who want to be creative should consider concrete fireplace surrounds, which can be cast in smooth or textured shapes, advises Sarah Barnard, a WELL- and LEED-accredited designer in California.

Regardless of the design of theDresser with fireplace in your home, keep the room clean. “You remember the design of the fireplace, not the elements of the mantel,” says Philadelphia interior designer Megan Gorelick.
What are the trends in fireplace design?
Current trends in fireplaces focus on minimalism and natural materials. “Using materials such as marble, limestone and reclaimed wood to surround fireplaces provides texture and an organic touch that complements a variety of interior styles,” says Galloway.

By 2025, the designer expects a greater emphasis on bold, artistic design and unique visual elements. “Fireplaces with bold shapes, unexpected materials and asymmetrical layouts are increasingly popular, allowing homeowners to make a statement,” she adds.
What fireplace color makes a room look bigger?
Interior designers often consider the color of the fireplace when looking to enlarge a room.
Mosslar recommends choosing a coat color that goes well with the walls. “Colored spaces really expand and have a calming effect,” he says.
But there are also reasons for a more attractive design. “A darker fireplace can add depth and create a larger fireplace wall,” says Elizabeth Mollen, interior designer and CEO of Chicago-based Stone Textile Studio.
Do fireplaces save heating costs?
It depends. Most people don’t use a Dresser with fireplace as their primary heat source, but a wood stove that acts as a supplemental heat source can reduce a home’s reliance on central heating. This can potentially reduce your energy bill, even if only slightly. For Mollen, a fireplace is “an extra layer of warmth and coziness” rather than a way to save money.
It’s also worth noting that a gas stove can actually increase your energy bill because you’re paying extra for that fuel. View your previous utility bill to see your usage and payment history before turning on the fireplace.
Now the ideas.

Don’t be afraid to go beyond the traditional framework of Dresser with fireplace design. Jessica Davis, founder of interior design studio Atelier Davis, used this sculptural plaster frame by Brent Warr in the formal living room of a French Colonial home. “I love a fireplace with interesting shapes,” she says.

Modern fireplace ideas can vary from the traditional square shape of the fireplace. Take inspiration from Galloway to create a fireplace wall. The fireplace sits low, but the slate-colored wall gives this design a big moment.

A remodel can be the perfect time to add a mantle. For the ultimate focal point, hang artwork that reflects the size and shape of the Dresser with fireplace. By choosing a light color palette, Galloway creates impact without overwhelming the living space.
